A scene from lady m's suicide note, directed by Liv Garcia. A blonde actor has a look of pain on her face while an off-screen hand pours water over her.

theatre is about two things: care and the sublime

In my career as a director and dramaturg, I've led year-long dramaturgical practices with a team dedicated to turning over every stone inside a play, facilitated workshops for high school students to develop micro-theater, and collaborated with devising ensembles to create work that tackles everything from memory formation in traumatized brains to the hidden story of Lady Macbeth. With each piece, I am working to build caring communities that support participants as they strive towards the sublime.

I view directing as a coalition-building practice and draw on ideas of "beloved community" (bell hooks) to create ensembles built on shared values and open communication. Curious about what that looks like? Click below to discover production highlights and more.

Community-engaged, imaginative, and feminist dramaturgy is the core of my artistic practice. As a dramaturg, I embody the role of the "dynamic facilitator" to support expansive conversations in the rehearsal room and beyond. Click below for production and process highlights. â€‹
